Acceptance of Terms
An instruction to carry out work, whether written or verbal, will be taken as acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and acceptance of the contract as detailed herein.
Estimates
An estimate is an approximate price calculated with all reasonable care using available and visible information at the time of quoting. It will be provided where an exact price is impractical due to lack of information, inaccessible installations, or other unspecified factors.
Quotations
A quotation is an offer to complete the specified works at the stated price. Any additional work requested by the Client will be subject to a new or revised quotation, to be agreed prior to commencement.
Guarantee & Warranty
All work carries a 12-month guarantee against defective workmanship and installation materials.
Manufacturer warranties apply to equipment, luminaires, and accessories; these are parts-only warranties, and labour will be chargeable at the current rate. Lamps are excluded.
LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR accepts no responsibility for defects caused by tampering, misuse, or alterations made after completion.
Supply Authority Charges
Prices do not include any charges made by the electricity supply authority unless otherwise stated.
Variations & Additional Work
Any variations or additional works must be agreed as soon as possible. Additional work due to unforeseen circumstances or beyond the agreed scope will incur additional costs.
Emergency Work
Emergency work will be agreed prior to commencement where possible. If urgent work is required and the Client is unavailable, LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR will carry out the safest and most cost-effective solution unless expressly instructed otherwise. This work will be chargeable and may involve isolating circuits.
Standards & Compliance
All work will be carried out by suitably qualified engineers and in accordance with current British Standards and applicable regulations.
Making Good
All work will be made good where reasonably practicable. This includes refitting floorboards but excludes plastering, decoration, or reinstatement of carpets and floor coverings unless agreed.
Retention of Title
All materials and accessories remain the property of LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR until full payment is received.
Materials on Site
The Client is responsible for the security and safety of materials delivered to site.
Client-Supplied Equipment
LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR reserves the right to refuse to install substandard or non-compliant equipment.
No warranty will be provided on client-supplied materials, and any issues, delays, or additional labour arising from their use will be chargeable.
Testing & Sensitive Equipment
The Client must disconnect any sensitive equipment prior to testing. LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR will not be liable for damage to such equipment.
Access & Delays
The Client must provide clear and safe access at agreed times. Where access is restricted, unavailable, or causes delays, additional charges may apply and works may be rescheduled.
Parking & Associated Costs
Any parking charges, permits, congestion charges, or similar costs incurred will be chargeable to the Client unless agreed otherwise.
Programme & Timescales
Any dates provided are estimates only. LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR will not be liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond its control, including weather, material shortages, or access issues.
Existing Installation Condition
No responsibility is accepted for the condition or safety of existing installations. Any faults identified may require additional remedial works at extra cost.
Regulatory Compliance Issues
Where existing installations do not meet current regulations and prevent completion of works, remedial works must be agreed before continuation.
Planning Permission
It is the Client’s responsibility to obtain any required permissions. LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR will not verify or apply for these on the Client’s behalf.
Billing (Extended Works)
For works exceeding one week, invoices may be issued weekly for labour and materials.
Payment Terms
An advance payment of 20% is required upon acceptance. A further 40% is due 7 days before commencement, with the final 40% due upon completion.
Invoices are payable upon receipt unless otherwise agreed.
LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR reserves the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at 8% above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Cancellations & Postponements
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or postponements. Deposits may be retained, and any costs incurred (including labour, materials, and scheduling) may be charged.
Waste Removal
Unless otherwise agreed, waste removal is not included. This can be arranged at additional cost if required.
Limitation of Liability
LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, contracts, or business.
Welfare Facilities
Suitable welfare facilities must be provided. If not available, portable facilities may be arranged at the Client’s cost.
Solar Performance Disclaimer
Any estimates relating to system performance, energy generation, savings, or payback are based on standard assumptions and are not guaranteed. Actual performance will vary.
Use of Images for Marketing
LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR may take photographs and/or videos of completed works for use in marketing, including website, social media, and promotional materials.
No personal or identifiable information will be disclosed without consent.
If the Client does not wish images to be used, this must be confirmed in writing prior to works commencing.
Force Majeure
LA BRISTOL LTD T/A LA ELECTRICAL & SOLAR shall not be liable for any failure or delay due to events beyond its reasonable control.
Contract
1. Definitions
“The Company” means LA Bristol Ltd T/A LA Electrical & Solar
“The Client” means the person accepting the quotation
“The Works” means the electrical, solar, or related installation/services to be carried out
2. Formation of Contract
A contract is formed when the Client accepts the quotation, whether electronically, in writing, or verbally.
This contract is subject to the Company’s Terms & Conditions, which form part of this agreement.
3. Scope of Works
The Company shall carry out the Works as detailed in the accepted quotation.
Any additional works or variations must be agreed and may be subject to additional charges.
4. Price
The price shall be as stated in the quotation.
The Company reserves the right to adjust the price where additional work is required, unforeseen issues arise, or the Client requests changes.
5. Payment Terms
Payment shall be made as follows:
20% deposit upon acceptance
40% payable 7 days prior to commencement
40% payable upon completion
The Company reserves the right to suspend works if payments are not made as agreed.
6. Access & Programme
The Client shall provide safe and suitable access to carry out the Works.
Any delays caused by lack of access, site readiness, or Client instruction may result in additional charges or rescheduling.
All dates provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
7. Materials & Ownership
All materials remain the property of the Company until full payment is received.
8. Installation & Existing Systems
The Company is not responsible for pre-existing faults or defects within the installation.
Any additional works required to bring installations up to current standards will be chargeable.
9. Warranties
Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months.
Manufacturer warranties apply to equipment supplied.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Company shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, business, or profit.
The Company shall not be responsible for variations in system performance, including solar generation or savings.
11. Cancellation
Cancellations must be made with at least 48 hours’ notice.
Deposits may be retained and any costs incurred, including labour, materials, and scheduling, may be charged.
12. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond its reasonable control.
13. Governing Law
This contract shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
