We recently installed an outdoor double socket at a property in Thornbury, giving the customer a convenient, weatherproof power source in their garden.

The Brief
The customer wanted a double socket installed outside to make the garden more practical and avoid the need for extension leads running through doors or windows.

- Weatherproof, IP-rated enclosure
- A dedicated circuit from the consumer unit with RCD protection
- Neat cabling with no exposed runs
- Fully tested and certified on completion
What We Did
We ran a new circuit from the consumer unit and installed a weatherproof double socket in the customer’s preferred position, with all cabling neatly routed and properly protected.

- IP-rated double socket fitted in a suitable outdoor location
- RCD protection provided for safety
- All cabling concealed and properly clipped
- Installation tested, inspected and certified on completion
The finished installation is neat, unobtrusive and ready for everyday use.
Why Outdoor Sockets Need to Be Installed Correctly
Outdoor electrical work is subject to stricter requirements than indoor work. Sockets installed outside must be IP-rated for weather resistance, protected by an RCD, and installed on a properly rated circuit — not simply extended from an indoor ring main without the right protection in place.
