At this property in Olveston, wall mounting wasn’t a practical option, so we installed the Zappi on a purpose-built post positioned close to the parking area. This keeps the cable run tidy and puts the charger exactly where it’s needed.

When a Post-Mounted Charger Makes Sense
Most EV chargers are wall-mounted, but this isn’t always the most practical option. Post-mounted installations are often the right choice when the parking area is some distance from the house, when there’s no suitable external wall close to the car, or when an outbuilding, garage or barn is involved.
A post-mounted installation requires a buried cable run from the consumer unit, which adds a small amount of work compared to a standard wall mount — but the result is a neat, purpose-built charging point positioned exactly where you need it.
