Getting the Most Out of a Smart Charger
The Zappi Glo supports three charging modes: Fast (charges at full speed using grid electricity), Eco (uses surplus solar generation when available, topping up from the grid as needed) and Eco+ (charges exclusively from surplus solar — ideal in summer when generation is high).
For homeowners without solar, the app allows charging to be scheduled around off-peak tariff windows — overnight rates on tariffs like Octopus Go can be as low as 7p per kWh, making home charging far cheaper than using a public charger.
