Sigenergy is a relatively new name in the UK EV charger market, but it’s been making its presence felt. We’ve installed a number of their AC chargers and here’s our honest take.

What Sigenergy offers
Their AC charger range covers 7kW to 22kW, with the 7.4kW single-phase version being the most common choice for UK homes. It connects via Wi-Fi and Ethernet, with monitoring and control through a mobile app. Dynamic load balancing is built in, so the charger adjusts its draw based on what else is running in the house — useful if your consumer unit is under pressure.
The solar integration is worth highlighting. Some Sigenergy models can work alongside solar inverters to divert surplus generation into your car rather than exporting it to the grid. Whether that works with your existing setup depends on your inverter and how the system is configured — worth discussing with your installer before committing.
Build quality is solid. The units are designed for UK outdoor conditions and come with overcurrent and surge protection built in.
Installation
Installation needs to be handled by a qualified electrician. The setup is relatively straightforward, and the app walks you through connecting to your home network. Expect to pay around £950–£1,200 fully installed, depending on cable runs and any other work required.
A few things to bear in mind
Sigenergy doesn’t have the same track record in the UK as Zappi or Wallbox yet. The hardware specs are competitive, but it’s worth being aware of when thinking about long-term support. Our experience with their technical team has been positive so far.
For homes where solar integration or load balancing is a priority, the Sigenergy AC charger is a strong option. Contact us to discuss whether it’s the right fit for your setup.
